Hey, I just got a Twitter account, and I was wondering if I text my updates on twitter, will it cost me extra money? I already have unlimited texting with AT&T, but I just wanted to know if it would charge me more.

I was planning on registering my phone for that Twitter updates thing, but I wanna know if I’ll get charged for that… it said that Twitter does not charge for it, but Standard Rates apply, but I have unlimited texting, so will I get charged extra for that? Oh, and I’m with Telus mobility.

I have unlimited texting and I share 700 minutes of talk time with my mom and dad. I do not have internet on my phone and I am not allowed to. So If I get twitter on my phone does it cost any money? And do I need to have internet on my cell phone in order to get it?

From all I’ve seen and heard, it appears that using Twitter is virtually the same thing as texting, and is very close to being the same as emailing. So I’m wondering what the point is. Can you Twitter on devices we already own, or do we need to buy something new?
(And, if we do need a new device, why should we get one if texting and emailing already accomplish the same purpose?)

My service provider is t-mobile. I have unlimited texting, though, so will signing up for the mobile alerts on twitter cost me a penny? [anything?] Or will it simple be free? [Since I do have unlimited texting].

As far as I can tell from all the descriptions I’ve heard, twittering is almost exactly the same thing as texting, and not much different than e-mailing. So, it makes me wonder, what’s the point?
